I've been stitching small scrapes of hand-dyed cotton fabric, thread, and felt into "twine" on my sewing machine. Making these lengths of heavy thread feels suprising similar to spinning bits of wool on my spinning wheel.
I'm couching the colorful twine onto a blind contour hand drawing that's been transferred to transparent fabric.
This piece is developing very much in-the-moment. I'm trying hard to let it be what it is without a preconceived notion or plan. Stitching is sometimes a good place to practice this skill.
